UNR Student Talks After Marching in Charlottesville White Nation - Me too

I still haven't forgotten.

UNR Student Talks After Marching in Charlottesville White Nationalist Rally

Thousands gathered to protest in the streets Charlottesville, Virginia earlier this month, among them was 20 year-old Reno resident Peter Cvjetanovic.

Cvjetanovic is an undergraduate at the university studying history and political science.

He traveled to Charlottesville to march in the "Unite the Right" rally, a battle over Charlottesville's ordered removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee.

"I came to this march for the message that white European culture has a right to be here just like every other culture," Cvjetanovic told Channel 2 News on Sunday. "It is not perfect; there are flaws to it, of course. However I do believe that the replacement of the statue will be the slow replacement of white heritage within the United States and the people who fought and defended and built their homeland. Robert E Lee is a great example of that. He wasn't a perfect man, but I want to honor and respect what he stood for during his time."

Photos of Cvjetanovic protesting circulated on social media, denouncing Cvjetanovic as a racist.

"I did not expect the photo to be shared as much as it was. I understand the photo has a very negative connotation. But I hope that the people sharing the photo are willing to listen that I'm not the angry racist they see in that photo."

However, Cvjetanovic, a self-proclaimed white nationalist, defends his beliefs.

"It was on the front page of The Guardian and my heart sank."

The white nationalist, born and raised in Reno, says he was letting some of his anger out during a rally in Virginia when the picture was taken but now he asks himself why.

"I give no excuses for that photograph. That is clearly me…It was kind of a moment-type thing. The torches were lit and there was ANTIFA there. There was lots of cameras and that emotion, it was really starting to build up."

Cvjetanovic says he went to the rally partly to protest the removal of a statue of Lee.

"I think that statue remaining would be the best way to remember their history, the good and the bad."

He's says he's had several death threats since the protest.

He admits, walking shoulder-to-shoulder with Neo-Nazis, Klansmen and other white Supremist groups reflects on him -- but says he doesn't identify with them.

"We do not accept national socialism. We do not accept fascism. We do not accept Klansmen. We are truly Identitarian. That symbol is not a symbol of racism."

And while you might associate pro-white with racism he says they're two different things.

"I hope people acknowledge that being a party to the alternative right does not make me an evil Nazi, and that being pro-white right now is dangerous, and being pro-white doesn't mean I'm anti-anyone else."

Cvjetanovich says his trip to Virginia was kind of a test-run in the alt-right.

He says he didn't join until about a month ago and wanted to hear different people speak.

"As a white nationalist, I care for all people. We all deserve a future for our children and for our culture. White nationalists aren't all hateful; we just want to preserve what we have."

The University of Nevada, Reno president Marc Johnson released a statement acknowledging that one of the marchers photographed was a University of Nevada, Reno student. They didn't comment on him directly but wrote in part, "Racism and white supremacist movements have a corrosive effect on our society. These movements do not represent our values as a university. We denounce any movement that targets individuals due to the color of their skin, their religious beliefs, political beliefs, sexual orientation, ability/disability, or whether they were born in our country." You can read the full statement at the bottom of this story.

A petition is circulating on Change.Org calling for Cvjetanovic's firing and expulsion from the university.

At a press conference, university officials said that they will not fire or expel Cvjetanovic, saying they do not agree with him but he has a First Amendment right to assemble and free speech. They also say Cvjetanovic has a clean record with the university after three years. (Read President Johnson's statement below)

As classes at UNR began on Monday, Cvjetanovic decided to resign from his on-campus job as a driver for the university's escort service. "I did not want to pick at the scab of Charlottesville," Cvjetanovic tells us, "I want peace at UNR and I believe my leaving is a good step to ensure that. I just want to not be expelled and graduate in May." Cvjetanovic says that his resignation was his own decision and the university sis not pressure him to leave.

A Twitter account, "Yes You're Racist" posted a photograph of Cvjetanovic with Senator Dean Heller.. Later Senator Heller responded on Twitter saying, "I don't know this person & condemn the outrageous racism, hatred and violence. It's unacceptable & shameful. No room for it in this country.

The Charlottesville protests left 3 people dead and several injured, click here for the full details.

This 'March for Our Lives' Browser Game Helps Spread Awareness for Saturday's March

On Saturday, March 24, people will be gathering all over the country for the March for Our Lives. This browser game, Game for Our Lives, was built to help spread the word about the protest, and give you a nice distraction on Friday afternoon.

The platformer, made by Martins Zelcs and Bryan Stokely, stars survivors of the Parkland mass shooting tragedy Emma González, David Hogg, and Delaney Tarr, who have been at the forefront of the current movement for stricter gun laws. You start by picking who you want to play as—Emma, David, or Delaney—then you make your way to the Governor's office, jumping over people to get there on time (you can double jump). After that, you fight the first boss by avoiding their attacks and literally calling "BS!" (press "P" to shout). Soon you move on to the Lobbyist's office, then the Congressman's office, where you have to actually dodge their "thoughts and prayers" to win. When it's over it gives a link to the March for Our Lives home page.

It's a quick game, but a fun little time killer. More importantly, it's built to convey a message. Before each boss fight you get a quick cutscene that uses facts to counter typical pro-gun arguments. All in all, it emphasizes the kind of change the March for Our Lives movement would like to see.

I'll be honest—if you are passionately pro-guns, you will probably not like this game. And that's okay! Not everything is for everyone. That said, I'm not completely anti-gun and I got a kick out of it. I think it's good to support peaceful protesting and encourage young people to take part. Little things like this game can help do that. You can check it out at the link below (warning: there is sound).

Chapter 14: Diagnosis

Chapter 14:

Diagnosis

DailyDDoSe March 23, 2018

Jeffrey Rubin from neurology just took an extensive medical history and lengthy physical exam and said is calling in a Neurosurgeon (Grubel) and 100% feels I need a NEUROSURGEON. My PCP already spoke with him and is making the necessary referral for get the neurosurgeon to see me here at my bedside.

He apologized extensively when and said he was shocked that I fell through the system given my education and experience in healthcare. He knows the Green in Miami and said he's excellent but said that if it was his daughter he would be perfectly comfortable with Grabel doing the surgery here.

I gave him HIPPA permission to discuss treatment and diagnosis with you, Rita, and Steve and he said I was an excellent communicator and gave him a better history than he gets from most doctors which made me happy since it feels like he really HEARD me and was simply amazed and saddened that I managed to fall through the system and how badly they failed me.

I feel the same way.

It was incredibly difficult for me to ask for help and it breaks my heart to think of people who are unable to advocate for themselves or lack the knowledge to resources to fight for what they need.

Rubin said they can't promise that my function, sensation, dexterity will return after surgery but feels there is a good possibility that some will and that it's critical they do the surgery to prevent further impairment.

On a personal level, I'm having a difficult time processing how this could happen to me when I have fought so hard for others as an advocate, policy analyst, lobbyist, policy advisor and health care provide changing laws and policies for so many others yet found myself completely incapable to medically necessary treatment for myself despite my best efforts.

I realize that emotionally I'm going to need to need to some therapy to cope with the fact that my mother exploited, abandoned and treated me with such blatant abuse and neglect forcing me escalating and triggering deep psychological wounds I dealt with long ago.

That's on me. And I know writing helps me to process the extreme emotional abuse and trauma so I can let go of it before I internalize her cruelty and neglect and go back to that dark place I fought so hard to escape.

There is ZERO doubt in my mind that there is a strong mind body connection and there are countless studies that show how severe pain and disability can cause or escalate depression.

I can't begin to go into the ways my biological mother tortured me and actively compromised my mental and physical health over the years and I am done trying to give her the benefit of the doubt or buying in to her lies or transparent efforts to manipulate me claiming to be concerned for my well being.

Anything my mother does or has done for me is nothing more than superficial efforts to feed her narcissistic, borderline, histrionic and psychotic behavior and need to be seen as both a martyr and a victim and I refuse to be either.

So I'm done. I knew what I was getting into when she purchased two condos for Lauren and knew that all the trust fund talk was bullshit, but knew that I had enough evidence and strength to stand up to her in a way that Lauren could not.

Karen has been trying to force me out before I even moved in and I will literally burn the place down before I allow her to force me into a nursing home or out on the street and that's where I'm at.

This chapter is a lot longer than it should be and I would love to return to writing policy briefs, a real job and the advocacy that has helped so many others and so desperately needed in such a fragile society and health care system.

I have made a bit of a name for myself over the years willing to share my story publicly and privately to advocate for change and while it has made me a target and left me vulnerable, I feel that my story and experience changes lives and policies in the real world.

I'm can take the hits. I'm a lot stronger than people realize and having your support and seeing how quickly you found Steve and Elaine to get me proper care has helped me to see that despite all the horrible things my mother told me were not true and wish I was able to see that when I was younger and given you the respect you deserved for wanting the best for me.

For wanting me to achieve success and independence on my own and I hope it's not too late to say thank you and I'm sorry for doubting that your tough love style was for your convenience rather than my benefit.

There is nothing worse in my mind than being unable to care and provide for myself albeit financially or physically and tho I never cared much about money or material items, I was more concerned with changing the lives of others rather than demanding to be paid what I am worth while under contract.

Perhaps too late to change that, but as you know I made the decision to go back to work in the real world a few weeks before I became completely and totally disabled and paralyzed by this illness.

So until then, I write and hopefully soon I will walk and maybe someday soon I will go back into the work force and fix this problem so another person forced to go through what I've been through these last few months.

Thank you, Dad. And please thank Rita for calling yesterday afternoon. I can't tell you how much it meant to me to hear from her and have her ask me if there was anything I "need."

I wasn't an easy child and a pretty defiant teenager and know how difficult I can be at times. Rita really got a raw deal getting stuck with Lauren and I and having to deal with the vile hatred and abuse my mother unleashed upon her for so many years.

Seeing David recently was an eye opening experience for me. Hearing how proud you were of Alex made me a bit sad wondering if anything I've done or written over the years made you feel the same sense of pride and made me realize how different my life could and would have been had I learned earlier how sick and dangerous my mother was to my physical, emotional and financial well being and future.

You should here from Deltor soon.

I have no doubt this is way too many words to say what needed to be said about my diagnosis, but wanted to put it out there before losing the inspiration or ability to write.

Both you and David can take it down but I would rather you didn't.

I'm a bit emotional dealing with so much on my own for so long, but I know others gain strength in my story and perseverance and hope that by writing through the dark as well as the light will help others who find themselves ready to give up on themselves and the world around them.

Much love, respect and appreciation.

Chapter 13: Personal Bankruptcy

.... continued unedited raw

I miss snow. I miss you. I think yesterday was the first time we chatted other than the first time I head from you that Saturday about Trump's fake Lehigh degree when you weren't falling asleep at the keyboard and had time to chat.

I know you're busy. I know you're tired. But I could spend days online with you catching up.

Really felt like you finally started opening up to me again last night. Like we were communicating and again rather than me just running my mouth endlessly to an uninterested audience.

I have millions of readers. But they don't know me like you do. They think they do, they hope they will, they beg for my time and attention profess their love for me hoping to capture my attention, but they'll never have it the way you do.

I worry that it's too much for you. I don't want you to feel like you are responsible for my feelings and it was especially hard when I told you how much it hurt when you left so many years ago.

I want to walk away. I want to angry. I want to remember how much it hurt so I never allow myself to fall so deeply for anyone again.

But here we are. And I can't seem to let go. And I can't seem to set you free even tho I fear that my feelings are nothing more than a burden to you. And being so sick is terrifying. I know you noticed when it first happened because I saw several messages from you where you said you were worried when I lost fine motor control and saw that I couldn't type or communicate.

I didn't tell you (or anyone else) how serious it was because I didn't want anyone to know how broken and vulnerable I was. I didn't want you to contact me out of duty or obligation.

When I realize that you and I will never share an embrace or a bed again, the only saving grace is that in your eyes, I'll always be young, beautiful, vibrant and healthy.

Then I know how sick you've been and remember how much shame you felt over your illness that you would use the bathroom downstairs completely unaware that I was completely unphased by it at all.

If anything, in retrospect it was more hurtful to think you thought something so human and clearly beyond your control could make you doubt my commitment and total devotion towards you.

And then I got sick. And I was depressed and suicidal and felt like the best thing I could do for anyone including you was remove myself from their lives and this world that clearly wasn't meant for people as fragile and broken as I was at the time.

And the world reinforced that message. Society reinforced that message. My own mother told me I was better off dead and still tells me that my illness (albeit mental illness or the physical illness that has paralyzed my life and my body for months now) are nothing but a burden on her and Society and that she is so ashamed and embarrassed to have a child who is such an embarrassment that she doesn't tell anyone she even has children.

She refuses to acknowledge, read, watch or comment on any of the countless articles, books, websites or documentaries written by or about me.

I spent too long battling those demons and I can see clearly the problem lies with her and it is simply cruel and beyond sick for her to have put all of these things on me as a child let alone as an adult who can and will fight with trauma and depression for the rest of my life.

Yet, here I am all over again. Broken and beaten and my mother came into my hospital room, took my property, violated my privacy and compromised my health in ways that are too complicated to name here.

But there are records and Court papers and surveillance video because last time I was alone with her she attacked me physically and I don't have the strength to protect myself from her violent assaults or the energy to explain how someone so "beautiful" and charming could be so cruel and calculating that she came to the hospital asking me to sign over my life insurance and to gain access into an Estate and inheritance that she feels she is owed to her from a divorce settlement in 1975.

She came up with an elaborate scheme and story telling me that she needed information from my father and his 89 year old mother so she cloud help me get medical care and benefits and provide for my care after her death.

Every time she complained about money she blamed it on me. She had to marry men she hated so she could provide for me. My father left her because of ME!!

I was SIX MONTHS OLD!! My mother told me (at age 39) "for the record, your father left YOU, not me!"

Bitch, get real.

She tried to have my grandmother's body exhumed for a pair of diamond earrings and had the audacity to tell my uncle she wanted the earrings for me.

Then last week, when I told her how gravely I'll I was she left me on the floor covered in blood and urine and without food or medication and yelled at me and demanded money for a $10.00 copay at the pharmacy and refused to pick it up because it was an inconvenience for her.

She has already made multiple demands for money, sold my jewelry, my bicycle and is already trying to force me into a nursing home so she can sell my condo and personal items.

She kept me on the phone for 3 hours and 38 minutes screaming at me for being sick and told me how my she can't afford to help me because she couldn't afford it since my grandmother only left her $750,000
rather than the $1 Million she promised and the $4 Million she was expecting.

I must stop here. I asked her for $100. That's all. I promised to pay her back with interest. She said no and left me for dead.

I'm not dead yet. And despite discussion all of this is Chapter 11, clearly my story is far from over.

I've pulled my content from Amazon and it is all available for free.

I'm calling this Chapter 13 and will add the 28 footnoted pages when I am able.

Cross posting live cuz fùck the world.

I'm not the first person with a severe illness to be exploited by a greedy self obsessed relative but I sure hope I'm the last.

Looks like I'm going to need some serious therapy when this is over or to help me get through this, but my fans are loyal and kind and send me letters every day to tell me how much I am loved.

And when your own mother tells you and and everyone else that you are better off dead and demands legal authority to discontinue medical treatment before you even have a diagnosis, it helps me to know that not everyone feels that way.
