Trump demonstrators plan stop near billionaire Schwarzman's home

Demonstrators planned to stand on the shoulder of South Ocean Road tonight, across from Stephen Schwarzman's house in the 1800 block where he was having his 70th birthday party.

The billionaire Schwarzman serves as one of President Donald Trump's economic advisers. The demonstration, organized by members of the United Front Against Trump, Progressive Caucus of Miami Dade, South Florida Activism, and the New Florida Majority is in protest of Trump and his pick of wealthy friends to fill his Cabinet.

"He said he was going to flush Washington of the Wall Street executives," said Jack Lieberman. "Now he is bringing in all these billionaires."

Lieberman said a bus of people were planning to unload at Phipps Ocean Park and walk close to Schwarzman's house. As of publication time, the bus had not arrived.

Palm Beach Police were aware of the planned demonstration, but we're not terribly concerned.

"They have private security at the event," Capt. Curtis Krauel said. As long as the demonstrators do not disrupt traffic or cause problems, they will be allowed to stay. "Were monitoring the situation," he said.

There are 25 private security guards at the scene.
