Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort is a hacker's dream, investigation alleges - SO TEMPTING

Dismal internet security at Mar-a-Lago and other Trump properties leaves the president — and U.S. national security interests -- egregiously exposed to hacking threats, according to a joint investigation by ProPublica and Gizmodo published Wednesday.

The investigation exposed a long litany of security vulnerabilities at Mar-a-Lago and three other Trump family-owned properties frequented by the president, including:

  • Three weakly encrypted Wi-Fi networks, a Wi-Fi-enabled "open" printer (which can be used by hackers as an entry point to infiltrate a larger network), and an unencrypted router at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
  • Two open Wi-Fi networks, which anyone could join without a password, at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

  • A long list of weaknesses -- "weak and open Wi-Fi networks, wireless printers without passwords, servers with outdated and vulnerable software, and unencrypted login pages to back-end databases containing sensitive information" -- at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C., and a Trump golf club in Sterling, Virginia.

The presence of weakly protected or unsecured Wi-Fi networks across Trump properties is particularly concerning, as hackers could leverage these networks to infiltrate computers and smartphones, potentially gaining a pair of ears on the ground where sensitive conversations and high-level presidential business are unfolding.

Questions about national security briefing in Mar-a-Lago dining room

The situation is "bad, very bad," Jeremiah Grossman of cybersecurity firm SentinelOne told ProPublica and Gizmodo. "I'd assume the data is already stolen and systems compromised."

Mar-a-Lago is a frequent base for the president's meetings with U.S. officials and foreign dignitaries, and an obvious target for hackers. The president has met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, British politician Nigel Farage, and Chinese President Xi Jinping at his family-owned Mar-a-Lago club. The president also conducts high-level operations on these properties: for instance, he authorized the April strike on a Syrian airbase while meeting with Xi at Mar-a-Lago.

In March, the U.S. Government Accountability Office agreed to Democrats' demands to open an investigation into the president's stays at Mar-a-Lago, and specifically explore information security, screening standards for guests, and travel expenses billed to taxpayers. Two months later, that report is still in its "early stages," ProPublica and Gizmodo said -- which is what prompted the two outlets to test security levels themselves.

The reporters set up a 2-foot wireless antenna aboard a rented boat and piloted it within about 800 feet of the beachfront club in Palm Beach.

"There, we picked up signals from the club's wireless networks, three of which were protected with a weak and outmoded form of encryption known as WEP. In 2005, an FBI agent publicly broke this type of encryption in minutes," write co-authors Jeff Larson, Surya Mattu and Julia Angwin.

"By comparison, the military limits the signal strength of networks at places such as Camp David and the White House so that they are not reachable from a car driving by. It also requires wireless networks to use the strongest available form of encryption."

The investigation comes as the world reels from a massive cyberattack last week, in which hackers used so-called WannaCry ransomware to cripple Britain's nationally run hospitals and businesses and government offices in countries around the globe.

Trump's weekend trips to Mar-a-Lago cost taxpayers millions

Mr. Trump has spent seven weekends at Mar-a-Lago and one at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, out of his first 17 weekends as president. The Center for American Progress, a liberal organization tracking his travel, estimates the cost to U.S. taxpayers at $26 million.

The president's travel habits are a departure from those of his predecessors: both President Obama and President Bush took weekend getaways at Camp David, where the Defense Information Systems Agency is responsible for digital security.

A spokeswoman for the Trump Organization told ProPublica and Gizmodo that the company follows "cybersecurity best practices" and is "confident in the steps we have taken to protect our business and safeguard our information."

The White House did not respond to repeated requests for comment, according to ProPublica and Gizmodo.

April 30, 2021

My dad told me to clean my room.

It's not like I have a backdrop of loaded guns on zoom like Don Jr. cuz THAT would be weird.

I'm still looking at desks and table to do work on.

I've been trying really hard to get organized but it's very hard for me.

When Rose is here tomorrow or Sunday I'm going to lift the glass on my night table and clean the wood cuz it's very yucky.

I moved a little bin next to my bed because I cannot reach or see the night stand due to my neck and back surgeries.

I don't expect that to change according to Dr. Urakov. So rather than me adapting to the furniture, I have by I adapt the furniture to me.

That's NOT so difficult to grasp. That's why we have the ADA and accessibility mandates.

I want to get a rug / mat for the living room. My feet are terribly blistered and bruised from going out in my broken shoes on Tuesday.

I have an appointment with the Podiatrist on Tuesday, May 4 and that's where I bought the shoes last year so I will get another pair.

Cleo sleeps with me but I've placed her litter box on the balcony and then brought it in when it rained.

I ordered her a new one with a cover that will be here today.

I've completely rewired the TVs and internet.  Dr. Pottash asked me about this because he was pretty impressed and he told me how his wife was in the hospital for a month when she gave birth and the cable went out so he called the head of the hospital.

I told him how the TV went out when I was in the hospital and when I spoke to Gram and said, "the whole neurology floor has no Comcast" she said, "ooh.. good. Just like home!" and made me laugh.

Anyway, it's taking some time. But I'm getting there slowly.

I'm sending Karen the invoice from Miami of all the modifications they made that she threw out in her haste and she will have to replace them. It's that simple.

My meds are stabilized now for the most part. My pain is pretty severe and my hands have lots of pins and needles and numbness.

That is all very normal after neurosurgery. And I still have considerable spasticity and "jerky" hand and arm movements.

I am doing Thai Chi so that my movements are more natural and fluid.

The doctors are trying to get my pain under control but my insurance company keeps denying any interventions so it looks like I just have to do the best I can until I switch Insurance Companies during open enrollment next October.

I've switched psychologists / psychotherapists and I think my new one is a much better fit.

She doesn't take my insurance but the only one that does has a two year waiting list and I got tired of waiting.

I'll send more pics as I get more settled.

I got COVID a little over a week ago. I am coughing and have a very sore throat but I got both vaccines and as promised, I got sick but I did not have to go to the hospital and die!!

Isn't science amazing??

Love you all,

Liz

The Trial

DailyDDoSe © February 10, 2021
Update 11:22am

...

There are rumors that flying TVs are raining down outside of Mar-a-Lago.

I'm literally right here and I can confirm that isn't true. And shame on you for thinking Donald Trump could even lift a TV!!

There are news crews outside and I already took my morning "walk" so Baby Penguin 🐧 and I are totally chilling with a HUGE sandwich waiting for THE TRIAL to begin.

We have chips, we have dip... we have MASKS because we are not idiots.

"We" waited FOUR years to see justice!! Don't forget, I was on LOCKDOWN when Trump tried to do a photo op from MY hospital room and I kicked them out.

Yeah, so what if I got a Secret Service lockdown.

Big.

Fucking.

Deal.

Life is good.

CONVICT TRUMP!!

Things are very noisy here with the construction but I'm doing well. I'm going back to Miami for a week for some neurology testing but it's nothing to worry about.

I'll just pack my penguins, take the outfits Gram got me and go for a few days. I'm thinking of it like a vacation so hopefully I'll get some answers about the muscle spasms, pain and swelling on my head and neck now that we have ruled out epilepsy.

Things are quiet over at Mar-a-Lago. I try to go out every morning to sit by the water and always keep an eye out for suspicious Russian yachts, submarines and helicopters!!

Hopefully the next big event will be when they arrest Trump and take him away.

He belongs in prison. Are you watching the Impeachment Trial? The defense is ridiculous! I wonder if dad is rolling his eyes up there in New Hope??

I asked Dad if there is ANY amount of money he would take to defend Trump and he said "NOPE!"

I know everyone deserves a good defense but Trump needs to rot in prison for all he's done.

I take it very personally because I feel that I would have received better healthcare if Trump wasn't spending all our money on wasteful projects that I feel comes directly out of our pockets through healthcare, education or whatnot.

We certainly didn't win any prize with DeSantis and certainly not with Rick Scott or Marco Rubio.

So here we are. I hope you're well.

I love you,

DAILyDDoSe January 17, 2018 ©️ 2021 Falling Angels

Remember when I made this for you?

January 27, 2018. I told you I would be like a guardian angel to you and your offspring. You may not see me there, but I would always bee looking out for her.

I thought I was doing you a solid, looking after your most precious "commodity" you were leaving behind.

I planned all her birthday special gifts to be sent from YOU after your passing.

All of it done anonymously.

I think It's time to cancel that. I had the very best of intentions but you and your wife never did see that.

I even called to see if I could donate a healthy A+ kidney anonymously.

They said no. They needed proof that I knew ypu.

Your wife stirred up such a commotion at Mt. Sinai they were getting random donors and that was not their protocol.

I didn't know what to say because toy you had already cut me out of your life and they wanted to know how often I speak to you and lied.

I told them were friends since the age of 15 and stayed close through college, high school, college and graduate school.

They asked when I spoke to you last and lied and said a couple of weeks ago.

I wanted you to have that kidney so you're could watch your little girl grow up.

I have no idea what happened or why they told you off the list but that's what altruism is all about.

You're wife should look it up someday.
